Yep, another LT1 wiring ?.
Getting a 95 LT1 from my work out of a caprice. I have computer and most the harness. I say most the harness because a large group of wires that I believe went through the firewall are just cut off. where did these wires go? The underhood fuse panel it still all hooked up to the harness and so is the computer, so it wasn't those wires. I know I was going to have to splice some wires for the dash, hopefully the ones that are cut. any tips, should I go for a Painless wire harness?
Thanks, Matt
Thanks, Matt

Matt, you are going to get many different opinions here. Some are going to say to buy a complete harness from Ebay or a junk yard. I can only comment on the Painless harness since that is what I used. I literally had the car rough wired in a few hours. The harness is excellent IMO, but that comes with it's cost. There are a few wires not part of this harness and those are not difficult at all to do. Good luck.

Where the harness is cut has the wires for the gauges, A/C & heater controls and some other stuff.
I can give you that part of the harness if you want since I cut mine off and still have that portion with about 12-15" of wires on it.

I have a 95 imp motor and went to Howell,Inc. . They are great to take to(I'm not one to set there and deal with wires). I got an ecm w/ the motor. Howell sold me the harness and sent me a pre-programmed ecm unit(I had to send them my old ecm when i got the new one) all for $500(then they returned me $200 after I sent the other ecm back). Not the cheapest way out but the install when faster... just my input

Zepher, I went back to the donor car and got the harness from the other side of the firewall, so now I have the hardshell and all. It looks just like that pic, just tons of wires and one black vaccum hose. I'm hoping I can get all the wires hooked up right, but man it's a lotta wires!
I got to do a few things before I can throw her in, need a new fuel pump, gotta get a water pump because for some reason someone took it off the engine i'm buying. As far as water pump, I hear lots of people like to go with an electric pump, so i'll look into that. Anyway it'll be a good month before I get to all the wiring.
Oh, should I grab the engine mounts off the donor in case I need em, it came a out of a Caprice, not an f-body.
Thanks, Matt
