Smog Pump removal question. . .

My friend and I are changing out the current 305 to a 350 with Vortec heads, a ZZ9 cam, SDPC Vortec TPI Baseplate, semi-race valves, professionally prepped heads, speed-pro flat-top pistons, remanufactured crank, hooker headers, and other ****.

Anyway, my question is that we would like to get rid of the EGR system, smog pump, and those vaccumn hoses that are above the passenger side valve cover.

Any help you can give us about this would be good. (the car is a 92 Z, if you didnt pick it up from my name)

Welcome aboard...

As long as you dont have emmisions testing, just take it all off includeing the pump during the swap. Youll possibly want to burn a chip (as far as smog crap is concerned) to get rid of the SES light when the computer notices the egr is gone. As for teh smog pump. Just take all the crap off and see the tech article about routing the belt w/o the pump in the tech section of this site.

When I did pulled mine out, it never even tripped a light. Strange.
