Re: OEM wonder bar

I would just go new aftermarket from your favorite vendor, most of the good performance handling companies make one like BMR and Spohn etc.

I went with Top Down Solutions and have no regrets and it’s a quality made piece that still works and looks great today. It’s an easy install and well worth it IMO if not to just improve handling but strengthen the front frame around the steering box.

Thanks for the info, i have been thinking about the TDS wonder bar too, specially if OEM is hard to find or too pricey compared to a new one, but with the OEM wonder bar the car would retain its stock look tho, so OEM at the time being would be my first choice.

If you went black from TDS it would probably look stock but I’ve honestly never seen a stock one and the 92 Firebirds never got them. You could only get a OEM one from a IROC as the Birds no matter how high optioned didn’t come with them from the factory. I am thinking it would be about double more for a OE from a IROC, also many of the aftermarket’s will fit almost all years but the factory ones may have trouble fitting in early cars but if your car is a 92 so that should be moot. I bet eBay has some used ones to check out for pricing.

Re: OEM wonder bar

OEM ones are just a round bar kinda poorly welded to some brackets. They work but honestly aftermarket will look better and likely be even stiffer.

I was lucky, I scored a nice used one on ebay. Just cleaned it and a good coat of paint
