Vortec TPI Manifold
I am looking to buy an Edelbrock 3817 or an SDPC 3816 Vortec TPI lower manifold/baseplate.

Re: Vortec TPI Manifold
Looks like Scoggin just ran out of stock. Probably be best to start a grass roots group buy, letter writing campaign to get them to get more in stock. No one seems to want to buy one new, and that's how the seller makes money, and sees that a product is worth manufacturing and stocking. If the community lets the SDPC intake go away, that will be the last of the aftermarket TPI manifolds. Heck, we should be petitioning SDPC to get the Edelbrock TPI base for normal SBC heads made. With the second hand market driving the prices up, there has to be a market, however small.

Re: Vortec TPI Manifold
Drew, completely agree. I went to buy a new one from SDPC and saw that they are not available. I emailed them to see if they would be getting another batch. I would buy one new tomorrow if they have more.
It’s an unfortunate reality for our cars. There just isn’t enough demand for aftermarket performance parts. SLP, TPIS, Edelbrock, Accel have all discontinued just about everything. I don’t blame them, it’s just business, but it stinks for us.
I put my project on hold for about 10 years (job, House, kids, etc). Now that I am back into it and have some extra $ to spend, everything is being discontinued. I wish I could have afforded to buy all of these parts back then. Timing is everything.

Re: Vortec TPI Manifold
I just talked to SDPC. They are temporarily out of stock and are expecting another batch to come in within a few days. He said they had sold a bunch of them recently. Sounds like its still a popular enough product for them to continue to produce. Good news.
