OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
Hello Everyone:
I'm trying to restore my 1988 Iroc-Z with LB9 engine to the original factor stock condition. I'm looking for the original equipment GM exhaust pipe (I-pipe) and muffler assy identical to ones shown in the photos below.
I-Pipe:
The GM p/n is 14089477 and was used from 1986 to 1989 with engine LB9
Muffler:
The GM p/n is 10113098 and was used from 1985 to 1989 with engine LB9. The p/n 14085395 shown on the muffler below is for the muffler only. The tailpipes welded to the muffler makes it a muffler assembly. I included that photo to help identify the right assembly
I'm looking for these part new in box or with low mileage in good-to-excellent condition without any damage. Maybe one of you bought a new or low mileage Iroc-Z and replaced these with a hi-perf system and forgot the orginals are collecting dust in your garage or basement? If you or someone you know has something I might be interested in, please let me know. Thanks.

Free bump.
I'm looking for a muffler/tail pipes too. Doesn't have to be completely mint, so I'll take sjaluia's rejects.

I don't know the part numbers but it looks exactly like what's on the '86 Trans Am 305 parts car I just bought. It looks like a not too old stock replacement. Definitely not original. Where are you?

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
I'm in Michigan. Would you be willing to send to some photos. A photo showing connection between I-pipe and muffler and a photo of tailpipe from tip below bumper to where it goes into muffler would be very helpful (and appreciated). Thanks!

chazman, are you the guy with the two Camaros, one black and the other white? Did I ask you for some photos recently? Some photos below. It's a DX3.

My '89 is a DX3 as well.
Just got a yellow 85 IROC. That's the one I'm looking for the muffler assembly for.

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
chazman, thank you for the compliment! It has a handful of minor flaws when you get up close to it. For example, there's some minor surface damage on the wheels from the one and only winter it was driven in, and the arm rests are peeling, to name a few. Wish mine was as new looking as your cars. I'm trying to correct as many things as possible, but quite a challenge.
Looking forward to your pics when you get around to it.
How do you embed large photos into a reply? I'm relatively new to this and haven't figured everything out yet. Thanks!

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
Just saw your 2nd comment... it recently turned 44,000 miles. I bought it used in 1991 with 6,000 miles. I used it as a daily driver and sold following spring with 26,000 miles. I regretted selling it. One day three years later in 1995 I saw an ad for an Iroc that sounded alot like my old one. It turned out to be mine and bought it back! The kid I sold it to put a flowmaster on it, installed a Center Force clutch and put a chip in it. He sold it to an opportunist who "flipped" it to me. Had 30,000 when I bought it. I used it as a daily driver in the summer months one year, and then it became a pleasure use vehicle that sat most of the time. It has the original tires! (which seem to wear very little) I got interested in it again in 2007 and now I want to take it to the next level by bringing it back to the condition it was in when I bought it in 1991, mechanically, and where possible, aesthetically. I want to do this with genuine OE parts, either NOS or used in excellent shape. Hence my email to you on GMI. Thanks again!

chazman, thanks for the photos. Look forward to more at a later time. Holy cow, did you every sit in your car? I've got the identical interior and shift ball, including the driver side AC outlet below the dash that wants to stay tilted up! Thanks again.

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
Beyond the diameter of the intermediate pipe, what's the the difference between the below muffler/tailpipe and the one in the first post?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200498289096...84.m1423.l2649
Seller claims it came off of a carb'd H coded '87 305. Of course we all know, those were no longer available after '86, but whatever........

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
chazman, compared to my photos and the stock Walker photo of #46669, hard to tell if the Ebay seller's I-Pipe is same or different because direction of photos (mine vs. his) photos is different. His straight section has a bend before it swings up, but if you look at any pipe with the bend facing toward you, pipe will appear straight. I think my photos is 180 degrees away from bend, so it also looks straight. I have to check mine tomorrow.
The muffler assy appears to be correct. Mine has P/N 14085395 AA. Not sure what's different betwee 14805395 and 96.
How can you tell his pipe O.D. is smaller?

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
Would either of these be correct PNs for you: 1014654 or 10244693? Both removed from new Camaros being turned into race cars more than 20 years ago. Been on my shelf since. Both still very shiny.

Indianavette,
They might be correct. I would really appreciate it if you would please send me several photos of both the I-Pipe and muffler assy. Can you provide any specifics about the camaro these came from?

sjaluia gets first dibs. But if you have two of them, I'd be interested in one.

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
I had a chat with Denny from Thirdgenranch on FB last night. He says he's going to try to have these OE muffler/talpipe assemblies reproduced. I told him that if looks like a factory system and sounds like it, I'm in for two.

Re: OE Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Assy Wanted
Did he give an approximate timeframe when these reproductions might be available?
