It's 2016, PayPal is legit and safe when used correctly. No 'pay a friend', only 'pay for goods'.
Hard to sell a $1000 part with a few hundred mile max radius of customers. :/

Guys, be a little creative. Seller doesn't want to risk PayPal disputes. Send a postal money order for payment & add in shipping cost. It is 2016 BUT what did people use before PayPal? I've been doing this stuff long distance WAY before PayPal came along. If your serious a postal M.O. works well because it's 100% verified through the Post Office AND if seller doesn't ship its followed up with mail fraud.

I see it your way but if I was the seller I see his way too. Most people who LOVE PayPal hardly ever sell OR hardly ever sell anything big. PayPal is 100% on tge buyers side. $1000 item now days is a coin flip using PayPal.
Postal money order is also s coin flip but with 10s of thousands of $s in transactions....PayPal wouldn't be my choice either.
A single scratch and buyer gets $ back.....

Re: super ram complete
If you guys were reading the post you would also see i told him i would take paypal you guys wanting to buy i understand yes its 1000 dollars and you want to cover your *** just understand its a thousand dollars on my end to yes paypal covers your *** but it still leaves me hanging and i run the risk of not getting my part back if things don't go right . At which point i don't have my part and no money for said part . Now at this point where am i gonna find justice try and file a claim with paypal ? Paypal responce a slap on the wrist to the person and a message please send the part back . File a claim against the person in court yes easy enough til you consider you are on the other side of the country . How much do you think it would cost in travel expenses and lost wages . Take the hit show up in court at this point it becomes a cat fight he said she said .if i'm lucky judge rules my favor tells person pay him back . Gives person time to pay back said money because of the amount . Fast foward several months maybe person paid my money back maybe he didnt if i was lucky he did and at this point i am still the one on the losing end of the stick i'm out several hundred dollars , got the part back so it's time to resale do you think i can recoupe the money i've lost not likely . Here i sit with a part i'm gonna lose money on

Re: super ram complete
Lol at the paypal experts. Idk know about these old tales about paypal. But it seems you have never been involved in a claim. Paypal doesnt take your money back. The part has to be sent back and proof of the shipment has to be verified with tracking. They dont take the money seller got return it to buyer and than throw up there hands and say" Oh well on your own from here" You want a super ram you kinda know what to expect. 25 + old manifold gonna have some scratches. Lol, aint gonna be new in the box. How the heck is a MO even a better option. I send you a $1000 MO across the country. I cash it. Now come and get me. No paper trail but maybe a pm saying Im sending a mo. Gonna charge someone with fraud in another state? You think the local pd is going to put this on the top of there to do list? Way more ways to get ripped off, happens all the time using a mo. Best option besides face to face transaction is paypal. But not paypal sending as family member. That is another popular scam. I think the classifieds needs a sticky at the top explaining the paypal process and ways to avoid getting ripped off.

Re: super ram complete
Paypal is alot safer than a MO. If the seller is serious he would take paypal. Just have buyer pay fees and shipping. MO if something goes wrong good luck chasing the person down to charge mail fraud. Paypal disputes are settled withing a month. MO fraud lucky to see you money at all after 6 months.
If said employees make a quick & incorrect decision, the onus is on you to show them the light. Not fun. Paypal doesn't provide a fair full review to cases. They have micro "default judgements" around their rules.
Further, when eBay had a database cracked a couple years ago, the Paypal accounts currently tied to eBay accounts were compromised. They didn't even make accounts that had been used within the preceding 30 days of the hack for receipt and posting of payments to have pw reset as long as the account wasn't the primary account attached to an eBay acct. at the time.
Paypal is happy & fun & easy. Secure & safe, not so much.
A tracking number shown to have arrived "back" to the seller is sufficient to get the buyer their money in Paypal's convoluted system. It's very possible for Paypal to "take your money back" in a transaction involving a scamming buyer. I've seen it happen enough. Not to me, luckily enough.

Re: super ram complete
Yes i know its worth a little bit more , i got it with some other parts i bought . The cool factor yeah it 's nice, but you can't argue with numbers . This is the second one i have had the pleasure of owning but the bottom line ,with the right setup the holley stealth ram produces more power. The 355 in the wifes car made 392 at the wheels with the super ram and 428 to the wheels with the holley setup. Was going to use this one on the 91 z 5spd vert i,m working on but decided to put the car back stock . Get rid of the carb mess the previuos owner put in it .

Re: super ram complete
I'm not going to need the baseplate, so I'm going to let this go to whomever needs it more.

Re: super ram complete Willing to negotiate no stupid offers
Unless the three main pieces are sold and accounted for it will not be seperated throttle body , runners.AND UPPER , AND LASTLY the base if three people are willing to commit on it this way i will seperate and by commit i mean putting down a non refundable deposit once ther is interest in the parts seperatety not just interest in one part interest in all three .

Re: super ram complete
Having a company with entry-level employees making arbitrary decisions is safer than having mail fraud charges backing a transaction? No. It's just more convenient and the process is more warm and fuzzy. But not safer.

They did put a freeze on my money for 5 days, but in the end the resolution was what I wanted. Seems fair.

So he told ebay it was "not as described". They read the description of my ad, and sided with me.
Still a PITA, but fair.
