9 bolt rear ends were installed in 5.7 cars and manual Trans TPI from 87-89. IROC and Birds.

The 2.77 is a 2 series carrier, you need a 3 series to get a shorter ratio in there. Still, this is a STEAL. Too bad it's so damn expensive to ship stuff like this international. I would buy it without hesitation. I really like the 9 bolts instead of the 10s. Super easy to rebuild and set up and I have yet to break one.

Yankeecarman, you might check Uship.com for their rate. Im not to far from SC and may be reasonable. This site will bid on the shipping. I will put it on a pallet and strap it down for the 100.00.
Galaxie, sent you a PM.

Nice meeting you yesterday...the differential actually looks nicer than the one currently under the car!
A previous owner had swapped this very axle out of my IROC, in favor of an open 2.77 diff, and drum brakes. As I discovered, they didn't bother changing the proportioning valve...so I'm pretty excited to put my IROC back together using the original axle it was built with.
