GM serpentine bracket kit w/use on a Moroso pump
I have a set of vacuum pump brackets designed for use on a GM serpentine bracket setup that install in place of where the factory smog pump is located. It is designed for use with a Moroso vacuum pump-disregard the polished pulley-it was for mockup-ideally you want to run it at about 4 to 1 crank to vacuum pump. The brackets are water jet cut on a CNC machine. Here's a pic of one I installed on a 434.

I need to keep a couple on the shelf for my own builds and the CNC cost with regards to programming time, material cost and labor means that ideally I need to route at least 10 kits to make this kit reasonably priced. So the revised price is based on quantities of 5,10 and 20 kits respectively and those prices are $265, $215 and $176. each. So if there is enough interest in these, I can get a large bulk CNC order placed and I can offer them to you guys cheap-relatively anyway. Nobody else offers this so this is the only time you'll see something like this offered I'm sure.
I already have a pulley design in the process to compliment this bracket setup so won't have to use a Gilmer style crank pulley adapter. It truly is an awesome setup! PM me if you have questions!

Re: GM serpentine bracket kit w/use on a Moroso pump
Ok...I've had a lot of people ask about them.....I designed and had a few made....I have a couple left on the shelf....I was going to have either 5 or 10 more kits routed on the CNC.....if there are more people interested, I could arrange to get the price on them down substantially-manufacture time and cost on a water jet CNC is not cheap....the prices for this bracket kit is $265 each if I have 5 kits routed, or $215 for 10 kits. If I sell a couple kits, I need to replace them.....if we can get 5-10 or more people interested, I can have them get the price down. PM me if you want a set...I have a couple members already express their interest....so if anybody wants in, let me know-thanks!
I hope this doesn't violate board rules....just trying to get a cool part at a cheaper price for everyone. The material the brackets are cut from is 6061 T6 aluminum so its very nice quality.

Yes, you can retain the AC comp.-I designed this so you can run all of your stock accessories and belt-the rear of the bracket is adjustable for keeping slight belt tension on it just like an old school alternator. As with most stuff like this, pulley arrangement is up to you-the installer...,but I am working on a custom pulley setup to allow you to use the stock crankshaft pulley-if this goes well, that pulley kit will soon follow...depends on if there is any demand for it.

Re: GM serpentine bracket kit w/use on a Moroso pump
Ok...you are on it. Like I said, the water jet process on these 6061 aluminum pieces are outstanding....it really is a nice kit. The 434 motor I designed this on used a GM serpentine bracket, used a cogged 5" Moroso pump pulley and a matching 2.5" Gilmer crank pulley for a 4:1 ratio. The motor dynoed at 632 hp and featured a Titan nitrous plate system.....no flexing was observed from the pump or securing brackets. Kit also includes an aluminum hub adapter to bring the vacuum pump pulley out further-in this fashion, you gain the ability to use a racing pump without sacrificing any stock accessory drive options.

not sure where this idea will go-so far I have just you and one other person seriously interested in a kit. If there is significant interest, hopefully we can organize some kind of group purchase. I'll keep you guys posted.

it could be the price that will hold people back. Would there be a big price difference if they were cut out of mild steel?

Re: GM serpentine bracket kit w/use on a Moroso pump
Price would be cheaper for mild steel....but I would think aluminum is a better choice for mounting an aluminum pump on an aluminum bracket....I just thought if people are spending the time and money to design and take advantage of a vacuum pump, money on a 6061 bracket kit would be well spent. Mild steel will still rust eventually, too. I don't know, we'll see.

Re: GM serpentine bracket kit w/use on a Moroso pump
Well, I don't think there's enough interest in this kit as it stands being made out of T6061 aluminum. Perhaps there might be more interest out of carbon steel? I can get a price quote out of the same thickness of carbon steel....you'd have to paint it to match or powdercoat it....I'll resubmit it for carbon and see where we are at pricewise. Sound ok?

Re: GM serpentine bracket kit w/use on a Moroso pump
Thanks for the link! The steel kit has all the same parts as the aluminum kit-specific length cut spacers and a rear bracket mount that is an exact fit for the moroso body as well as a super precisely machined front bracket that slides over the round body of the pump. The inlets and outlets of the pump are -10 straight fittings with oring seals. There may be slight grinding required on the serp bracket to allow fitting (depending on fitting brand) clearance but its very minimal. All edges are radiuses and holes are chamfered for clean, unobstructed bolt travel. Attention to detail is very high with this bracket kit in either material choice. Aluminum kits will be shipped as is, and steel kits will be etch primed so you can paint to your preference of color.
