Corvette 113 Aluminum Cylinder Heads, Nice, Lots of work done!
Hey all,
I have a pair of Corvette L98 Aluminum 113 Cylinder Heads for sale. These are the late style with the D-Port Exhaust (Exact same casting as found on the ZZ4 engine from GM Performance.
The heads were rebuilt 15k miles ago by the previous owner. At this time they received the following:
-New Valves
-Valve Job
-New Valve Guides (clearanced for higher lift)
-Comp Cams Guideplates
-3/8" screw in studs
I received them freshly rebuilt and installed them on my 305 with a Comp Cams XR258 cam.
10k miles ago I went to 1.6:1 RR and replaced the following parts, all brand new:
-Comp Cams 26918 Beehive valve springs
-Comp Cams 787 Valve Spring Retainers
-Comp Cams 601 Valve Spring Retainer Locks
-Comp Cams Valve Seals (in retainers)
-Fel-pro High Performance Valve Stem positive seals (intake only)
-Fel-pro High Performance Valve Stem seals o-ring (exhaust only)
Since I installed the heads, the oil was changed religiously at every 3000 miles with Valvoline ZR1 and Zinc additive to reduce friction. These heads do NOT have leaky valve seals or guides (no smoke at start-up). They are in VERY NICE shape, and I have already degreased them and cleaned the gasket surfaces. There is a slight amount of carbon buildup on the valves and in a few nooks of each combustion chamber, but nothing a bit of carburetor cleaner and a scrub brush wouldn't fix.
These heads are ready to go, and have been clearanced to accept well beyond factory lift. The pushrod guide holes were machined out and replaced with guideplates, and the valveguides were also machined down when replaced. I ran these heads at .520" of lift and there was still room to spare.
If you're building a performance 305, or just looking to do a cam replacement in your 350 without having to do all the machine work on your current heads, these are the heads for you. These heads are ready to go for the cost of machining your iron units, and you get all the extra goodies, not to mention the lightweight of aluminum.
I'm asking $500 + shipping for these heads. The valvesprings alone cost $200, not to mention the cost of machining and new seals. These are a steal.
Thanks,
-cal30sniper

I would drop it to $450 + shipping, but only if I kept the valvesprings and retainers that are on the heads now. I could replace them with a set of Z28 dual valve springs and retainers that I have laying around. They're good for as much lift as the beehives, but they're a lot heavier and stiffer.

The beehive springs are the better springs, but they also cost $200 new. They are a lighter, single spring tapered design, that is better for high RPM usage. The Z28 springs are what came on the heads when I bought them. They are plenty fine for most applications, but they are a basic, no frills, dual valve spring. Circa 1970s technology.

Deal is still a go as of now. Why are we bumping the thread though?
