LT4 crank and LT4 roller cam, LT1 heads and intake
I have the factory crank and cam that came out of my Vette. They are from a LT4. Both in good condition.
$50 a peice plus shipping
The LT1 heads, I had started to convert them to run on a SBC, as well as the intake. The intake is ready for a distributor.
I also have a set of LT4 valve springs $50
I forgot I had these. I just found them today.
I need $200.00 for the intake with all the work I have in it. And $100.00 for the heads. Everything has been cleaned and bead blasted. The intake comes with fuel rails and injectors, TB, and sensors

How many miles are on the cam? Do you have any pictures of it? This whole package is really tempting. What's the part number for the heads?

The cam came out of the motor with 47,000 miles on it. It is in perfect shape. I will get some pictures for you this weekend.

I would use 1.6 rockers with the cwm like they did from the factory.

very cool site thanks alot, looks like id need new springs too, seems like the cam would be very similar to an LT1 cam if you used 1.5 RR just more duration which is probably why the 1.6s huh

The cam is coated in grease and sealed in plastic to keep it from rusting

crank is also coated in grease and is sealed in plastic. All these parts came out of a 47,000 miles engine. Everything is in great shape.

Re: LT4 crank and LT4 roller cam, LT1 heads and intake
Looking at the pics you did a heck of a nice job on the intake and heads. Looks like you actually TIG welded everything instead of halfassing it with JB weld. Looks like the crank is a cast one. I would've thought the LT4 would have a forged crank?

Re: LT4 crank and LT4 roller cam, LT1 heads and intake
I know.....I would have thought the same thing but all LT4's had cast cranks. They just did a little extra prep work on the LT4 over the LT1. The funny thing is I googled the part number on the crank that I posted a picture of and it came up as a 305 crank? I know I pulled this crank out of the motor myself. I turned my LT4 into a 383 LT4. I am going to have to take a closer look at that crank....do some research. I know that motor had never been apart.
I found this about the LT4 crank. It looks like mine is right. It has the grove cut in the journal.
The crank itself was improved via something called undercutting and rolling. Undercutting is the machining of a groove into the corner of a journal. Though this would seem to weaken the crank at that point, it actually makes it stronger where tensile stress is most likely to cause sudden failure. Rolling the undercut introduces compressive stress to the area. This makes it more durable, because potentially catastrophic tensile stress generated during high RPM operation must first overcome the compressive stress before that area of the crank is subjected to tension. Undercutting, a groove cut into the corner of a journal, looks counterintuitive, but makes a crankshaft stronger where tensile stress is most likely to cause failure. By undercutting and then rolling it, compressive stress is introduced. Tensile stress during high-speed operation first has to overcome the compressive stress before there's any tension on the joint. And as tensile stress is what breaks crankshafts, undercutting and rolling make the crankshaft stronger.

Re: LT4 crank and LT4 roller cam, LT1 heads and intake
That's some interesting info. Makes sense to me. As far as the casting# goes, being the same # as a 305 doesn't surprise me either. The old 2 pc. RMS 350 cranks also shared the same # as the 305 crank. I remember looking up the # on an old 305 crank I had lying out in the garage on Mortec's website, and the application said 305 or 350. From what a guy told me at the machine shop, they're balanced differently for each engine size, but the crank has the same casting#. That also makes sense considering both motors have the same stroke length. It'd suck if anyone ever ended up putting the 305 crank in a 350 due to the same #. Probably end up with some funky balance issues!

Re: LT4 crank and LT4 roller cam, LT1 heads and intake
I have a few questions. I have a vortec 350 from a 97 or 98 Tahoe and the numbers on the crank is the same but was wondering if this LT4 crank will work in it? If it will how much shipped to 28016? I was looking at mine and one journal has a deep groove cut in it (that i didn't notice until i was getting everything ready to take to the machine shop, and it would take allot of cutting to make it right). I have never done any chevy engines before but mine definitely has a groove yours doesn't have and just on that one journal and if I remember correctly that one main bearing was very very thin and broke off also so I am guessing it wore the crank

Yes it will work, but you will need to be sure and have it balanced. The LT1/LT4 crank will work in any one piece rear main seal block. I am asking $50.00 for the crank. Shipping will be around $35.00, the crank weighs almost 50 pounds. Pay pal fee would be $1.80. Thats a pretty good deal since I know my machine shop charges $100.00 for a usable core crank. If you want it let me know I wont be able to ship it out until after this weekend.
