Vats security light stays on. Car still runs?

Hi everyone. In 2019 I purchased my 1989 camaro rs 305 Vin code e. The last owner said he had his mechanic bypass the vats security because ot was giving him issues. He gave me what was hopefully the original set of keys that has the security pellet. I ran into an issue with the lock cylinder that required me to replace it I confirmed that someone did cut the wire from the lock cylinder. I installed the new key and it ran fine. No issues. About a few months ago I had to replace the circuit board from the instrument cluster because I accidently tore it on a sharp protruding screw during installation. And I figured I'd replaces all the burnt out lights. I didn't think too much of it but the socket that houses the security light has broken glass residue. I replaced all the lights and when I went to start the car. It started up fine but the security light refuses to turn off.

Here's where I'm confused. The common resistor method I keep coming across the forums and youtube allows the light to shut off once the prom recognizes the correct "pellet".but this doesn't seem to be the case.

I was wondering if anyone has come across it and knows where to start looking for this gremlin as I wish to repair the vats and use it again or bypass it properly. I understand the arguments against vats but I'm just not comfortable with whatever Mickey mouse job was done under the dash.
