Pop up headlights with no light(intentional)

So I'm new to the firebird world personally. Unlike my father who has had his 89 formula 350 for a few years now. I'm just curious as to what wires would I have to tap into if I would like to have the pop-ups come up but not turn on the headlights(if possible). I'm looking at some aftermarket headlights that have amber halos around them and I'd like to have them on as a makeshift Daytime Running Lamp.

If anyone has some insight into this I would gladly appreciate the help or link a thread that's been already made regarding this. I haven't had luck find one of these is.

You didn't post the year of your car, so it's not possible to give you a specifically targeted answer. There were two very different systems controlling the lights, but in general you'd want to provide a separate means of switching the yellow wire* at the point where it connects to the dimmer switch in this diagram (of the later model headlights).

* Maintaining the yellow wire into the module, but switching the yellow wire going into the dimmer switch....
