Camaro drove fine but won’t crank suddenly
1992 Camaro rs 5.0, got it about a month ago as a beginner project. Drove to and from work and was just perfect. Went to start it back up an hour after but didn’t crank not even a click from the starter.
Lights came on and headlights still work and I can hear the fuel pump prime so I doubt it’s the battery and there was no warning signs so I don’t think the starter went bad but it is a small possibility. Tried in neutral instead of park but same result. There is no security light so I don’t know if vats is the exact problem
I don’t know if I’m missing something cause I just got into 3rd gens and this is all based off research and my basic testing.

Re: Camaro drove fine but won’t crank suddenly
Upon inspection of the starter solenoid it was completely corroded on the switches terminal. Replaced it and Tryed the key, still nothing. So I went and checked the voltage. 12 volts to the starter so I jumped it to to rule out some of the sensors stuff like vats or neutral switch. It engaged but didn’t spin and instead made a whine. It didnt disengage after that. So now I’m thinking the starter motor is bad. But the key never engaged the starter so I’m confused.

I'm having a similar problem, battery good, turn key nothing. Lights don't dim fuses are good. Did you find your problem? Looking at the switch on the shifter and the enable start relay? Haven't found that yet. Good luck to you if I find my problem I'll pass along
