Electronics Forum vs Electrical Forum?

I am probably alone with this...
But does it not bother anyone else that the Forum for Electrical and Electronics is named "Electronics"?

Maybe it is just me being an Electrical-Engineer?
Oddly enough, Electrical-Engineering covers both Electrical and Electronic Sciences...
However Electronics does not accurately cover Electrical Sciences.

Maybe the Forum Name should be changed to "Electrical" instead of "Electronics"?
...or maybe "Electrical and Electronics"?

Most all of you are going to think that I have OCD after reading this.

I guess I never thought of it before, but maybe your right, the description seems a bit stodgy. I'll bet THIS would bring some traffic to our outpost of all things involving electrons;

"Sparks & Arcs, come on in and drop your shorts"

They both constrain the angry pixies, but I have also thought something similar

Re: Electronics Forum vs Electrical Forum?

To me, automotive 'electrical' covers the wiring and switches that control the various accessories. 'Electronics' covers devices such as radios, PCMs and all other control modules on vehicles containing circuit boards covered with electronic components such as ICs, resistors, capacitors, etc. To the average person, the two terms are likely to be universally used.

And while I know the difference between the two, it doesn't bother me that others do not.

Re: Electronics Forum vs Electrical Forum?

Interesting...When I first saw the "Electronics", I wasn't sure, but then I read the description. Another factor was that there is no "Electrical" category, so I just assumed it was all in the "Electronics". So I have a couple of posts that have to do with only wiring in there.
