What does this button on the hatch do?

Hi,

I've seen some early 3rd gens - I think only '84s - have a button next to the trunk latch. It looks like a glove box light switch. It is *not* the guide pin that is on 82-83 Camaros and Firebirds. I'm assuming that it is used like a glove box switch to turn the trunk light on/off when it is opened/closed.

Does anyone have one of these on their cars? What does it do and how does the wiring work?

Thanks!

John

It's for the DOOR/HATCH AJAR warning light on the cluster.

Ah, OK. Was this a Berlinetta ("Starship Camaro") only option?
