Old car alarm

Does anybody know anything about this car alarm. I dropped the lower panel under the driver side dash and this fell out If I remove the first white wire with red stripe the car will not start. I did not get a remote for the alarm but I did know there is a red led light on the dash near the fog light switch. The led light is not working at the moment probably cause the alarm is not armed. By the way the car is a 87 z28.

Re: Old car alarm

Not specifically... Looks like Code-Alarm is a subsidiary of Audiovox, and their website doesn't appear to have any technical guides of manuals. Searching for the model number didn't get me anywhere either. The one diagram I found for a completely different model number shows pin 1, white with red, and pin 2 white, as being the key side and starter motor side of the starter circuit. You might want to trace the wires back to wherever they tap into the car, and see if the starter circuit is connected to those two wires. If so you may be able just to splice them back together. Definitely isn't anything you want to do without knowing what wires you're working with.

With most of these old alarms, your best bet is to remove them and put the car's wiring back to stock. Wiring diagrams for the car are easier to find than diagrams for a 15 year old alarm.

Re: Old car alarm

Yeah that what I plan on doing. I knew at some point the car had an alarm on it but thought that it was already removed. Guess what its not, but it will be.
