CANT FIND THE CONNECTION UNDER DASH FOR WIPER STALK
Hell I have run into a problem. Someone before that owned the 1986 Firebird put a after market wiper stalk in it. What i want to do is put a original wiper stalk back in. I ca not find the connecter to plug the wiper stalk connecter to it under the dash. Can someone please post a picture of the wiper stalk connects to under dash. HELP

Re: CANT FIND THE CONNECTION UNDER DASH FOR WIPER STALK
This 1986 Firebird has no cruise and no wiper delay. That connecter in picture does not look familiar, I am not seeing anything like that, but I will look again...

The wiper connector is a flat looking plug and the under dash part it goes into is a normal looking plastic connector. Its odd how gm did it but it had to be able to snake down the column for replacement.

Man Just dont have that connecter...maybe it was cut off. Do you know the colors of the wires. Trying to figure out which of the connectors in pic it is?

Hi, is everything working the way you want it to and you just want to replace the physical lever? If so the multifunction lever just pulls out. I believe you set everything to 'off' and pull straight out. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is all you'd have to replace.
If your car doesn't have cruise then there shouldn't be any wires attached to it to fish in or out of the column, see the cruise control is connected to the stalk, but the wiper functions are connected to a switch inside the column.
If this is not the case and you need to replace that switch inside the column, here is a picture of a 1986 firebird column A/T, no delay, I happen to have in my closet (rofl). It is the shorter connector on the right, I believe.

90-92 air bag cars its that easy. You just pull it out and unhook the little connector right there behind the removable cover.
On 82-89 cars the wires run all the way down to the bottom of the column for the multi function switch

right, so if for some reason he has to replace the wiper switch inside he has to tear into the column and unmoumnt the switch, and unplug that connector i show on the right, and take off the wire guard cover, and fish the switch's wires up and out.
but that's only if the stalk/multifunction lever isnt compatible with the switch that's already in there, correct? i was thinking maybe since all he has is non delay wiper he can pop the stalk in and it'll operate the switch ok.

Re: CANT FIND THE CONNECTION UNDER DASH FOR WIPER STALK
Hey guys I feel kind of dumb after looking at it more and getting your advice. Without cruise control there is no wire to attach Its all in the switch. So what i need is a wiper stalk with no cruise. The switch does the work.It feels like the switch may be bad it is really sloppy. So now to find a switch that will work for this year car. What fooled me was the aftermarket cruise control they put in It had the wire in the column

Re: CANT FIND THE CONNECTION UNDER DASH FOR WIPER STALK
The wiper action seems sloppy, blinker part works fine. I guess the first thing to do is get the right wiper stalk. Maybe that will all of the problem...Lol

the shaker looks pretty cool, good job.
my brother used to have a black '79 ta with the silver and red bird.
Maybe you can figure out how to hide the wipers better to complete the stealthy look.

Re: CANT FIND THE CONNECTION UNDER DASH FOR WIPER STALK
Hi, the problem is the switch in the steering column. It is broke on the inside. When I put fuse in the wipers will not turn off. Been looking for a switch they run from $90.00 to $138.00. Kind of expensive right now. This one is $90.00 I think that is the correct one?
