Power antenna question
I was wondering if those universal power antennas you see on ebay for like $45 fit in the fender like the original or any info on fitment before i buy it.
also since i bought the car the antenna never worked and is in the up position so the radio still works but does that sound like the motor is dead or could it be a relay or something?

Re: Power antenna question
The universals do not fit. The originals use a long thin mast that fits through the small opening in the body that leads up to the hole in the fender.

Re: Power antenna question
And the PO probably unplugged the 3 wire connector that is hidden behind the lower dash panel below the glove pouch. Or most likely hacked the wires so the motor would stop running. You will find those behind the inner fender.
Sounds like a Broken Mast Cable.
There's a great how to on fixing it real cheap. Do a search on here.

Yeah i was actually going to check the wires out when i get the time...i have a feeling its the cable that broke.
That's funny i just got done reading a thread by a guy with a TTA and he was fixing a snapped mast cable and the PO cut wires to kill power to the motor
