Electronic Help

I have a 92 camaro rs, I am changing the starter and i forgot to unhook the power when doing so i dropped the starter and it grounded off the frame of the car, it off now. i was wondering if the starter being off caused no power inside the car at all? nothing works, or if it has blown a fuse or something? please help

Yeah bro, check your fuses. It's very likely that your fuse block got blown all to hell. Seriously, we've all done **** like this. Don't forget to check the two fuses screwed to the front of the passenger side under the hood area of the fender. The ones just behind the battery. Good luck, you'll figure it all out soon enough.

Re: Electronic Help

there is two big fuses that are on the firewall behind the battery, im waiting to get my starter i had to order it today it will be here tomorrow, there is still power to the wires and stuff under the hood but not to inside or behind the firewall. but is the starter needed to complete the circuit though is my real question?

Re: Electronic Help

Someone who can say exactly needs to chime in. I believe the starter does need to be hooked up to complete the connection. Here is a pic of the 2 fuses to check. Mine are screwed to the passenger/front side area of the inner fender. Check these also. One controls the fuel pump. If the starter is necessary to complete the connection, that would solve all of your problems, right!

Click the below pic for a link to the fuses I'm talking about.

Depending on year, there are power feeds that connect to the big starter terminal where the main battery cable connects.

Re: Electronic Help

Expanding on what vetteoz said, the starter doesn't need to be connected, but the three wires that bolt on to the big terminal on the starter need to be touching each other. The biggest wire comes from the battery and the other two feed the vehicle's circuits.
