What would happen if I used 24v fans?
So I just replaced my rad fans and without realizing it until after the installation, the fans I bought are 24V vans not 12v. I know next to nothing of electronics so I'm trying to find out if this is going to be a potential problem.
These are the fans I used:

Yes, the fan speed will be lower. However the current draw will not increase, quite the opposite, it will decrease to half the rated draw. And they will be running at 25% of their rated cooling capacity.
So it is not dangerous to run 24V fans but they will not be effective and your engine will not get the cooling it needs and you might possibly get into an overheat situation.
You will want to replace them with 12V fans.
Hope this helps.

Re: What would happen if I used 24v fans?
Thanks for the replies.
I am having an overheating issue, thats why i bought new fans so I ordered two new 12v fans yesterday. I'm not thrilled about having to do this again, it was a very unpleasant job to do the first time with a lot of cursing and I don't anticipate the second time being any different.
Any idea where a 24v fan would be used? I'd like to try and sell them and get some of my money back if possible.
