Fuel pump hot wired into ign on fuse block blows fuse to gauges

Just as the title says fuel pump hot wired into ign on fuse block is blowing fuse to gauges. It blows as soon as the key is on. I'm using the original fuel pump wire, grey wire back to the pump, and work fine for awhile then started having this problem. Then I ran a new wire to pump (factory pump) and plugged into ign on fuse block and this ran fine for 3 or 4 months now old problem on new wire. Now any wire I try to run and use does the same thing, blows fuse to the gauges. I've tried things from searching on here nothing has workd. Tried running from green wire from relay etc nothing. Any help would be much appreciated

if you have the fuel pump plugged into the ign accessory spot on the fuse block, then it shouldnt be blowing the fuse for the gauges since theyre not interconnected. my guess is theres someting shorting out on your gauge cluster thats blowing the fuses.

I will check into that when I get time thanks for the response. Any other ideas? I could probably hook up a toggle switch for a temp. solution? Any feedback would be great

What will that achieve?
You talk about the relay;
are you using the key on Ign to operate the pump relay ( the proper way like the factory setup )
or are you running the pump straight off the Ign feed (bubba way )

Go to autozone and spend a few $ on a relay. Wire the fuel pump wire into the relay and use the ign spot on the fuse panel to activate said relay. Itll save you some head aches and probably stop blowing fuses.

if your distributor is blowing your gauge fuse, then your car has some funky wiring. the only spot where the distributor and gauges connect is the tach feed. and thats a low amperage circuit.
