Sending Units
I recently bought an 86 Camaro with a 305. The previous owner put in an aftermarket manifold and carburetor, so he removed the computer. Some of the gauges in the car are not accurate and I am assuming it's the sending units. I was wondering if the computer being removed has any effect on the sending units that I can use. Can I still buy the OER replacement units, or do I have to order something else? Are the sending units computer controlled, or are they independent from the computer? I could also use some hints as to where I can find the sending units. For now I'm looking to replace the oil pressure and temperature units. This is my first car, and I'm just starting to learn this stuff, so I'd appreciate any help or explanations you can give me.

Re: Sending Units
Nothing gauge wise uses the computer, you can just buy the stock replacements at a local parts store and install them.
