Fuel pump speeds

Car: 87 Iroc, 73 Camaro, 98 RS
Engine: 350, 572 eventually, V6
Transmission: 700R4, T56, Auto
Axle/Gears: 3.73, TBD, Stock
Fuel pump speeds
With all of you guys help, I have wired my fuel pump after having removed my computer from my car. My new question is, does the ECM regulate the fuel pump speeds according to the demands of the motor? I see on the wiring diagram, the tan/wht wire running into the ECM says fuel pump control, what does that mean? When I turn on the fuel pump it sounds like it is running much slower than I'm used to hearing. Thanks again for any help you guys offer.

the ECM controls the fueling though it's operation of the injectors
The wire to the ECM allows the ECM to monitor the voltage going to the pump

You don't happen to know why do you? They ran a long wire just to measure voltage drop of the pump wire, yet they run the pump continually and let the pressure regulator take care of everything. Why do they want the ECM to know the voltage drop to the pump?

The ECM does not care about the voltage "drop" on the fuel pump. It simply tries to detect whether the voltage is present or not and throws an error code if there is no voltage on the fuel pump after the ECM has commanded it on.
