Power Seats / Locks
Hey All,
I am considering putting Electric seats and power locks in the car.
What kind of power are these components going to use?
Is there anything I should consider before proceeding?
Will these components add much power drain, with respect to performance?
Just starting in the mechanic stuff here. Looking to put is 350 in place of the 305.
Thanks for the assistance.

Re: Power Seats / Locks
Well, you won't be adjusting the seat, or working the door locks, when your foot is in the throttle, so there's no performance issues at all. They'll work fine for what little bit of use they'll see - I mean let's face it, might run the seat once or twice a day, might use power locks 3-4 times max. Standard alterenator etc. is fine. Seats shoulkd ahve a 30 amp fuse. Locks don't need any fuse since it's a one-time "click" rathert han a motor drawing like the seats.

Re: Power Seats / Locks
thanks for the reply.
How do I route power to these new items?
Do I need to route from the fusepanel? or can I splice existing power?
thanks
Paul
