Speedo swap Qs

Hey guys, I read the thread by JamesC on fixing the odometer and followed the part about swapping mileage rolls. I swapped out my 89's 115 gauge for a 87 145 gauge, now the gauge is off by 5-10 MPH, and anything after 50 is makes a screeching noise, any suggestions?
