okay, i finally got my hands on an 89 camaro rs. I traded my 87 mazda b2000 for it and drove it 2 and a half hours north back to my place. along the way my dad shut off the heater fan and we smelt something smoldering kindof. When we got to his house we found out we lost my brakelights and later after i had another guy look at it he asked me to shut it off again and i lost turn signals. After this my car would no longer turn over and my mom had her old friend come look at it. The car sounds like it loses power as you turn the key. He has had it for 3 months now and been working on it. I owe him 1200 in wages and i have given him a good sum in electrical parts. After replacing fuses i have brakelights and turn signals again but the car will turn over and start up right off the bat but it dies right away. It doesnt choke but it sounds like something kills it. He has replaced my ignition switch and some relay thing now and still no luck. Whoever had the car cutt into the orange wire coming from the ignition and messed with it and so yhe just bought that to put in too but if anyone has an idea of whats going on that would be great.

Im only 17 years old and i can handle myself alright with the engine but wiring loses me, if it costs me and my mom much more shes gunna scrap it and this is my dream car so someone please help.

im more or less having the same problem only my car runs and my head lights and radio keep going out along with most of the accessories no your problem could be the fuel pump look around on google and find the recalls of this car and it wont be your dream car anymore

on that year there is no recall on the fuel pump i have checked just go in and replace it but frist check fuel filter, or the computer it might be takeing a **** the best way to check if its ur computer is to get a test light and take one of the injector plugs of and start the car and make sure that it pluses if it is it could be ur throttle control sensor and if its not any of those its the fuel pump or you might have a problem like i did and where you change every thing and the god dam thing still dose work.... then u got to take it back to carb
