Signals driving me batty

So when I picked up my ride from paint and got on the highway my left turn signal wouldn't blink, the right however was working fine. So I figure its a bulb and I buy a pack for the rear, I take out the bulb sure enough its shot. So change it and test still not working properly.
I get home in the evening and my mother tells me one of my running lights is out on the passenger side in the front. I figure I will get that bulb when I go to autozone again. Still trying to figure out my left signal issue I pull the front bulb and it appears fine, but I change it anyway because I have the bulb for it. Also I change the one for the passenger side since the running light element was burnt out
I pull the side marker bulb on the driver side and it's bad so I swap that out and I test my signal now none of them blink. WTF ur killing me car

Re: Signals driving me batty

With turn signal on, front park lights blink, side marker lights blink, rear yellow light blinks. All 3 have to have good bulbs in order for them to blink with the turn signal.

Now - you are saying none either side work now at all? Do they burn with park lights on?

If nothing is working (no park lights and no turn signals), I'd check fuses - if one is blown, then I'd say there was an issue with a bulb socket yo need to check.

+1 on the fuse and corrosion. People like to put that dielectric grease in there and after a while it gets nasty.

Re: Signals driving me batty

Maybe you inserted the wrong type bulb, which could draw too many amps, and thus blew the flasher unit - these flashers work by actually 'blowing a fuse' so to speak, then they reset, and 'blow it again' - many times per minute, thus the flash.

Using the same size/style bulb is not always right - if you look closely there are sometimes great wattage differences between bulbs that 'look' the same but have different part numbers.

Go to the sylvania website and see what's the right bulb for each location, and make sure that's what you used, then replace flasher and see what happens.

There are electronic flashers now that are more expensive, but work electronically rather than the old type of 'blowing' and resetting a physical connection.
