How many clicks does it take.
What I'm asking about is how far do I have to turn the key before I can use my accesories like radio and power windows. The way it sits right now I have to turn it to the run position before I can use anything, is that normal. Im asking because it feels like there is a position between off and run and I'm wondering what its for.

Re: How many clicks does it take.
Radio you can hear on ACC, which is turning key back towards you. Everything else have to have key forward one click to RUN. Only 3 positions, ACC, RUN, START.

Re: How many clicks does it take.
On my 91 RS Vert, the key has your typical 5 positions...
Back one is what I call my Radio position, since thats about all that works.
Normal is the off, key out position
Fwd one is Accessories. Largely just the radio, again, but thats all I've tried for. Not like these cars have a huge number of accessories.
Fwd two is for my radio, power windows, the gauges spool up, fuel pump runs, etc.
Fwd three is sprung for starting only.
Hope this helps a bit!
Cheers,
AR

Do yall have experience with any earlier cars than your own. your 91-92's have a different model ignition cylinder than mine. I need to make sure its broken before I buy a new one because I cant turn my key back and I dont get anything on the first click forward just a dead position.

On my 88 iroc-z 350 TPI:
- key out position
- 1 step counterclockwise: radio only
- key out position
- 1 step clockwise: nothing; to me it is to unlock the steering lock only
- 2 step clockwise: everything on
- 3 step clockwise (sprung): engine start
ciao
