any dash gurus? goin 92-86
welcome!
i just bought a 1992 black 3.1 5speed rs.
i already had a mild built and tuned 350 hsr, built 700r4
my ecm is the 165 i believe? 86-88,maf, no vats, no emissions, auto, cable speedo
how can i go about ridding the car (PROPERLY!) of the vats, vss, and any wires that would b affected by the 5speed to auto conversion?
the gauges arent a problem, im goin aftermarket on all of them,
i already have to pull the complete dash bc sum cut the vacuums to the ac vent controls under the dash, any help would be greatly appreciated b4 i take off running into the dark on this one,
its a straight clean car donbt wanna just hack anything up ,thanks guys!

Re: any dash gurus? goin 92-86
Well VATS is already out as the earlier TPI system didnt use it. So you can remove it or leave it it makes no difference as the ECM dosnt have that routine programmed into it. Next the VSS is important because the ECM uses that information however just because your going 5 speed doesn't mean you have to abandon it. If you want it to be clean and perfect without anything you dont need youll have to cut and cap wires or remove them from wiring harnesses. Really it would be a lot of work for little gain.
