Car: 1983, 1986, 2001 Trans Am
Engine: 305 cfi, 350 carb, LS1
Transmission: 700,Edge 2800 th350,Edge 3400 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt 3.27 Borg-Warner, built 3.73
No Power After First Start Up
I have a 1986 trans am 305 tpi been sittin for 5 months while i did a lil bit of tune up stuff for it and when i just get about to start it it only started to crank for a second then nothin no accessories or anything looked in my fuse box and nothin popped ima get under and look for a short or anything but any suggestions would be a help

If it's sat for 5mths and not run I would charge the battery first and see if that does it cause a battery will discharge over time .

they are all nice and tight is it could i have my starter hooked up wrong and blew a relay or fuse

is there a certain order that goes on the bigger bolt and which color goes on the smaller one jus wanna make for sure i got it right

I believe it is purple for the small bolt on the solenoid and the others just go on the big bolt .

With a multimeter, test the battery voltage with the ignition on.
If the battery is good and you have a full charge, it should read 12 something volts with the ignition on. (Load on battery.)
Also you should be able to turn on your headlights and they should be bright without the engine running.
If you're not getting 12 volts with the ignition on and the headlights are dim when turned on, then there is a battery or other electrical problem.

it aint the battery is there a fusable link that would break that would make it so that no power would go thro my car...jus a thought

There could be one comeing off the starter or one off your battery cable .

on my wire diagram i have two that cos off my battery one goes to the ignition switch first then the second goes to the generator
