What bulbs?

So I noticed my spoiler brake light wasn't working so I removed to to replace the bulbs...and it turned out the previous owner removed them and didnt replace them so I don't know what bulbs it needs. Does anyone have a model number for the bulbs?

Re: What bulbs?

I do not have the part number but I remember at the time I replaced one of mine (about 10 years ago) the price was $10.00 for each bulb !! To replace 5 bulbs would have cost me $50.00 I just pulled my assembly and I have only two installed. set up so that they were in bulb slots 2 and 4 (evenly spaced across the assembly). The cost is probably the reason the previous owner did not replace the bulbs. But I think according to law ALL your brake lights must be working. So I better buy three more.

Also, if I remember correctly, you must not touch them with your hands (avoid getting oil from your fingers or any other substance on them) because it will shorten the life considerably. Apparently they operate very hot.

third brake bulb
and see if any of the returned posts looks interesting.

Re: What bulbs?

The bulb number is 891, IIRC. They're expensive because they're halogen bulbs.

Re: What bulbs?

There is a guy that sells an LED conversion for it that is pretty damn cheap cost wise. I've posted the link many of times before. I don't feel like searching right now for it. I have the link saved on my home computer, if I remember, maybe I'll post the link again when I am at home.
