Smoking heater control???

My 92 bird is having some heater issues, the controls themselves (not the vents) smoke when and ONLY when the slider control is in the "off" position. I checked all the fuses and none of them are blown...

Any ideas?

[QUOTE=Dima;3659302BUT off, mine just smokes when it's off [/QUOTE]

Locate the switch, turn the controls off and see what happens.

Re: Smoking heater control???

I've seen more burnt out heater controls over the years than I can even count. My GUESS is that once you pull that control out of the center console you will see it blackened and charred at the dash harness connector.
