I'm in the process of planning the remote battery box install. I'm wondering if i should run a fuse block or circuit breaker to distribute the wires cleanly. I have a litle schematic i made to get the idea of what I'm doing. My stock harness is not so stock, so it has no power wires in it anymore.
I'm just trying to decide how to make it as clean as possible.
I'm going to be using the summit box and disconnect switch.
I'm probably going to grab a roll of 4 gauge.
How many feet of the large battery wire has everyone been using?

I was planing a 4/0 wire from battery to starter then the stock wire everywhere else. I don't know how the wirring is on the starter. Cuz there are alot of wires there? But I want a stock look with a empty battery case in the front. That will hold other things.

Basicly the feed from the stock battery area where ever it goes is where I tap my hot feed. But it is different if I had a on/off switch. For that there would have to be a cutoff on the alt. wire and my feed as my feed goes right to many other items.

In my 4th gen I have a small insulated mount in the front. Or a LT1 came stock with a red one with a cover.

stock all the power is distributed at the starter. I think in going to do the same thing just to make it cleaner.

Oh I think I found a better way! Rather than running a 4/0 and a 4. I could run 4/0 and a 10 or 12. Painless makes a remote mount alternator cut off and only needs a small remote input wire.

It's a idea but I have to look into it more as it has to be a large electric silnoid(sp) so it can be damaged it left on for to long! may be easyer and cleaner (even with the two wires) to just run the two wires to the on/off then on the other post to the battery.
