Keyless Entry Problem
Hey,
Im installing a keyless entry system in my car since I have shaved locks but am having a bit of a problem. I wired up everything to the door lock relay but when I try to unlock or lock the doors via the transmitter the actual recieving unit makes a couple clicks and thats it. The relay doesnt.
I have the BLue 200 mA pulse wire going to the ground on the relay and the Green 200 mA pulse wire going to the Green wire on the relay. The relays not the problem bc it works just fine with the locking switch. If it helps any I'm using the Commando KE-30 system
Thanks

Re: Keyless Entry Problem
Anyone, when I searched I only found what number terminals to tap into on the relay but my relay is letters, "A-G" or something.
Ok got some pics to hopefully help out.

This is my locking relay, dont know if its stock or not but thats what Im working with.

This is the wiring harness that goes to the relay. The previous owner started the job of installing the system but never finished it. Spliced the wire on terminal A ( light green) and the wire on terminal F (black wire) since that wasn't working I tried switching the wires around but still no go.

This is the reciever that I'm using. Im holding the green and blue wire that are used for the 200 mA pulses to lock and unlock the doors. Should be simple and straightforward yet somethings wrong. Am I tapping the right wires on the relay? Also does anyone elses receivers click when you press a button on the transmitter, doesnt say anything about it in the instructions that came with it.

Re: Keyless Entry Problem
I can't answer your question, but I have one for you, I'm going to install a remote start/keyless entry on my car as well, but I'm not sure if our electric door locks are positively triggered, or negatively triggered. I think positively, correct?

Re: Keyless Entry Problem
Problem solve. Since I was going by the wiring that the previous owner has already installed I didnt trace it back far enough to realize how shitty of a job they did. The main problem was this little box that the wires were running through http://images1.filecloud.com/565097/DSC02378.JPG . Theres a red wire that I'm assuming goes to 12 V but it wasnt hooke dup so i ripped it out and just wired it straight through. You can see how porely the wiring was put together though, twisted together with 3 feet of electrical tape on it lmao. Anyone ever seen a box liek that before, Im curious as to what its purpose is.
