Fan Fuse Blowing

I had a small fire from an oil leak. That was fixed, But now my fan fuse keeps blowing. It blows when I turn the key on with the engine off. The fan moves freely and works fine so I assume there is a short somewhere. How do I find it? Since the fuse blows with the engine off can I assume the alternator is good? Since the fuse is blown my battery isn't charging fully. Does the short have to be in the alternator/fan circuit or could it be anywhere?

The fire was on drivers side just above headers and toward rear of engine. Any ground straps on that side of engine?
