Atermarket 140MPH Mechanical speedo for 82-85 TA?

I saw a 140 MPH mechanical speedo for 1982-84 TA for sale on ebay.I have an 85 TA 305 TPI with the 80 MPH mechanical speedo. I e-mailed the company selling it questioning if it works on 1985's also with tpi, without any modifications, and he says it will work AS IS without changing the gear in the Trans that hooks up to the speedo.(no ECM plug and re-wiring from an 86-up donor car needed also I'm assumig then also?)
Is this possible?Has anyone done this without having to upgrade to electronic speedo/donor car ECM plug modification and VSS and gear swap?
It sounds too good to be true....... The seller is axmn46. Anyone ever baught this from them before ?

Paul, if you are swapping in a mechanical cable driven 140 mph speedo in place of your mechanical cable driven 80 mph speedo, no other mods should be required. Both speedos should be calibrated to read the same mph at any given drive cable rpm. So, if your current speedo is accurate, then the replacement should be accurate as well - it will just have less resolution, as its full scale value is greater than that of the original speedo.

Thanks Tim,I didnt wanna waste the money if it was useless.I wasnt sure if this was a doable mod .That one sold for 121.50,but im gonna call them to fid out the purchase price.
Does anyone know of another reputable speedo shop to deal with, preferably in NY or northern NJ?
THANKS!
