Hatch Pull Down Motor
Today opened the hatch and the pull down motor kept running and would not operate the hatch latch. I can open it with the remote switch but it will not close all the way. Would I be correct, if I replace the motor that would solve my problem?? Also a good source for the motor if that is the solution.
Thanks
Thanks

Yea I had the same problem once before. What I did was just lowered the whole unit a little bit. That worked for a little while but then the engine crapped out anyway. Bought one from eBay or the junkyard and replaced it.
I would just replace it and not have to worry about it ever again. Thats my thoughts.

Well the power hatch release is finally fixed. after getting the new motor and starting I found the gear stripped and the guides broken. So I had to order additional parts. Advice to anybody attempting this fix have these new parts before starting:
1) New motor assembly
2) New gear
3) New nylon guides
4) Download the instructions from TDS, a big help.
Took it apart and with the new parts it went together slow but sure. The hatch closed and opened the first with NO problems.
After a couple hours of free time and $100.00 worth of new parts it is working.

Thanks for the post! Mine is starting to act funny. Now I know what I'll need to get to fix it all up. Where did you get your parts from ?

Your choice Hawks or TDS.....I bought the motor from Hawks and the gear and guides from TDS. All the parts are the same and fit with no problems and costs are about equal.. Good luck
