OK, I'll be honest, I know almost nothing about electricity, but I know to continue to learn about my car I will have to know about electricity. I've been searching the web, but still can't find out how to ground a wire, can anyone tell me?

to connect a wire to ground, simply scrape a section of the body down to bare metal and connect a wire. The whole chassis is grounded. Beware that some grounds which are close to the ignition system grounds are "noisy" and will cause problems with stereo equipment.

As stated before the whole chasis is a ground, if you need a direct ground I would run a wire from the ground post or terminal of the battery.

Best way to ground a wire is to crimp a ring terminal onto the wire to be grounded. Find a place to ground it (a metal surface that is connected to the chassis of the car) and drill a small hole there. Use a small sheetmetal screw with a star-washer and screw down the wire's ring terminal to your chosen spot. The star washer has teeth that help it "dig" into the metal and make a good connection, and keeps it from backing itself out.
