Fuse Panel

I have an 88 camaro that had the 2.8L in it. Im doing a bbc swap. I took all the engine control wiring out up to the ecm(computer) and i was wondering how exactly to get power to the fuse panel to run the lights and accessories. Any info or diagrams appreciated. THANKS!

im assuming your not going to use the ecm..lol, but run a thick gauge wire like 10, to the back of the fuse panel, there should be a spot where the old one was.. but if you dont plan on using a fuse panel for some god awful reason, then do the same but run the positive to a power block and connect all things to that via their switches..... hopefully this helps

If you only removed the engine control wires, then the fuse panel should still HAVE power. You may have to segregate the two harnesses a little (some of the branches overlap and are taped together) but the ECM harness, and the forward electrical harness are more or less two seperate harnesses.

I removed the ECM on my LG4. Nearly all the wiring passing through the pass side kick panel (with the exception of the back-up light wiring) was eliminated. This elimination had no effect of the fuse block. If you're considering keeping cruise control, check the following link:

Everthing that came through the RH kick panel went to the ecm wich will NOT be used and was removed. On the LH side of the ecm(if your sitting in the pass seat)has wires that come off it and go under the dash. Will my power wire be in that wad of mess somewhere? If not do I run that 10 ga wire straight from the battery voodoo? I appreciate everyones help

The fuse box power comes in through the bulkhead connector at the firewall near the power brake booster. I think you're referring to the IP connector, which basically powers parts of the ECM harness from the fuse box, as well as hooking up to the dash warning lights.

well i may be wrong here... but typically the power wire goes from the battery, to the horn relay, into the wiring loom and into the bulkhead connecter on the firewall like was previously mentioned. which would mean you have power.. so i dont know how you dont have power to your fuse panel unless you removed all the wiring from under the hood. i would hook back up the wiring under the hood and just not connect the inside wires to the ecm anymore. hope this isnt to confusing, and if im wrong im sorry...
