91 RS Cluster Problems
Ok, so here are the problems:
I just got my 91 RS 3.1L 700R4, and since I bought it, the speedometer and the oil pressure gauges have not worked. The Speedometer stays at 0 mph, and the oil pressure gauge seems to be getting some data, but it sporadically pegs itself all the way left and all the way right, and bounces everywhere in between, though it does seem to change readings more so under acceleration.
I am going to try testing continuity between the vss and the cluster, as well as through the buffer and vss itself, though I don't think the vss is at fault as I am not getting a check engine light (though I am still going to try to check the codes to see if I am getting a fault 24).
As for the oil pressure, I am at a total loss. I have heard that a connection that is partially loose, or a wire that is bare and grounding, can cause this, but I have no idea where to find the sensor on the v6 to begin troubleshooting.
I understand that there is a good possibility that the cluster itself may be bad, but I would like to eliminate all other possibilities before I go replacing that. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

If you do a search on the speedometer problems there are many many pages
of reading and soultions to the problem you have. I fixed mine with the tips
to try from the forums.
