im putting this here because i figured that most poeple would see this thread in the forum .. i noticed tonight that my tail lights dont work at all .. not even stepping on the brake the fuse is fine and the blinker works when you turn on the head lights it turns them on but there on all the way, all 8 of them and when you step on the brakes theres no change in them. also my 3rd brake light dosent come on either at all .. i dont know if this is related to the fact that my hatch dosent open or not but can someone help me ... maybe an electrical blueprint of the rear end including the rear motor for the hatch also i heard theres some sort of button on the motor or something to make it release this way i can get in the hatch to rewire everything please someone help im going to get rearended becuase i dont even have brake lightsn thanks for all your help in advance

Take out the bulbs and you might notice that they are a single "filament" type. They will only light on one source and not illuminate when you step on the brake and light the second "filament" because it is not present.

I suspect that a prior owner did not check for the correct bulbs or placement of them. Go to your local auto parts store and look for the correct listing of bulbs. This might be the problem. Dual filaments for brake lights, single filaments for regular lighting.

check that you have the proper bulbs in all the light sockets. i cant remember which it was but one of my sets of lights had the wrong type so during the day the brake lights worked fine but at night with the headlights on they stayed on. have someone check and see if your parking lights turn on with your brakelights with the headlights off. if ya have the wrong bulbs i think it is a single pole in a double pole socket or something like that it will send power to both sets of lights Park and brake lights.

1st off.. have you checked the bulbs? I know its weird but U could have been lousing the over time and never notice them.. Than Id check for ground.. The way Id check this is with a oms meter set to 20K.. than ground one wire to the body and the other to the contact that touches the bulb base ( the big metal part not the tabs on the bottom) if you have a good ground than Id be looking for a major break in the harness to the back of the car.. If there is not a good ground.. than Id make a new one to the body..

everyone one was way off .. first off ive changed all the bulbs they all used to work perfectly and the hatch used to open .. then one day i was getting stuff out of the trunk and noticed taht the wiring was kinda hanging out of the top part of the hatch i tucked it all back up there and then when i closed the hatch i could never get it to open again .. ( the key part dosent work either) so the lights worked just fine but i noticed tonight that the lights where all ways on .. theres 2 taht are single filament and theres 2 that have two filaments in them .. but they all stay on at there brightest all the time ( with the headlights on ) durring the day ( without the head lights on ) theres no light at all ... not even the third brake light ... dose anyone know how to make the rear hatch motor release from inside on the motor it self ? any other thoughts thanks

First........Sorry, but you posted in the wrong forum. I saw that you posted here so it will be seen. Please do not do that. We have specific forums just to deal with each part/system of our cars. There are some people that only read certain forums due to that being their specialty.

Second...........do a ! It has been turned back on, so make use of it. I bet you will find the answer to your question.

Third............Moved to "Electronics", as that is where you will get the most responses.
