door locks dont work. relay just clicks
My power door locks dont work from either side of the car and the relay just clicks. I replaced the relay already and nothing changed. The unlock/lock buttons on the drivers side both work because when I press either of them the relay clicks. The passenger side on the other hand only makes the relay click on the lock button. the unlock button seems to be dead in the water. This car has been sitting for a year or so undergoing other major modifictaions. Could it be that BOTH my door lock actuators could have somehow craped out on me?

They are grounded directly via the unit themselves. They screw right under the kickpanel to the sheet metal underneath.

Sounds like one of the common problems on our cars. Years of accumulated dirt and grease gum the mechanisms up. Try cleaning and lubing (both the locks and power window tracks with WD-40 and white grease). Since you'll be inside the door anyway, check the following link for some other suggestions:

In regards to the grounding point for the door locks in your car, they do not ground through the unit itself to the car frame as firebirdjosh has mentioned. They dropped that concept in 1988 when they switched to a different relay. In your car it is located under the rear of the center console if you have power windows and power mirrors and under the drivers seat if you don't.

why in all he11 would GM run the ground for the door locks all the way in the middle of the car? Is it me or does that seem like a real dumb place? I will take a look in there and see what I can find. Idont recall there ever being a ground wire(s) in there that i had to ground but I will check. Thanks for the tip

Re: door locks dont work. relay just clicks
Sorry I'm new to hear and don't know how to post. I have a 92 Chevy silverado and I bought it with no door handles so it has a door popper on it. It recently quit working and I don't what the problem is. It is connect to a remote so I can automating open the doors. It's jot working anymore and when I try and diagnosis I just get clicking in the relay. The passenger side has one also but has never worked. So I switch the wires for drivers side to the other relay and still get the clicking noise.. Please help

With that said, since your door poppers are aftermarket, your best bet would be to find out who manufactured the kit that was installed, and get the wiring diagram from them to use in your troubleshooting.
Good luck with it

First and foremost, this forum is only for 1982-1992 Chevy Camaro / Pontiac Firebird cars, you will need to find a Chevy truck forum to answer your question.
