Using different alternator problems

I'm putting an older 120 amp alternator into my '87 camaro 305 4bbl. The size of the alternator came up as a problem. I was able to fit the alternator in there, but the terminal post hits the intake manifold. Any suggestions on how to still use this alternator without spending a lot on getting it to fit??

Remove the four cover screws and "re-clock" the position of the rear shell. Be careful to keep the two halves together, or you might lose the brushes from the slip rings, and will get to disassemble and reset the brushes.
