20 amp in line fuse

Ok folks, does anyone know what the plug attached to the 20 amp in-line fuse is? The 20 amp fuse that I'm talking about is attached to the side of the engine bay, right beside the battery.
The 20 amp fuse has an orange wire and a red wire. The red wire runs to this mysterious plug that I have no idea what it is.
I'm doing an engine swap and It seems that I'm missing a piece...... big suprise eh?
Thanks

Yes, that mysterious black plug connects to another plug with a black wire that goes to the positive cable on the battery.

Hmmmmm ok so I'm probably going to have to buy another positive cable then...... Reason that I have this problem is that I removed the 2.8 in my 89 camaro and threw in a 5.7 out of 90. The positive cables must be different........... Crazy......
Thanks very much, off to GM!:hail:

By the way trickster, where did you get all of those fancy diagrams that you've been giving people? Is it a service manual?
And if it's not, where can I get one?

First, please start a new thread next time, this thing is dead.

Second, when does the fuse blow? Right when you connect it? When you use the power locks? When you turn on the accessory position? Does the radio have to be on? Is it the factory radio? If not, what method was used to wire the new one in?

Re: 20 amp in line fuse

That fuse runs a lot of things. Anecdotally, a common cause of it blowing is the cigarette lighter socket shorted out by a coin or other metal foreign object.
