Check Engine Light

I'll make this a short as possible...
I've been having a problem lately where my check engine light will come be on when I turn the key but very dimmly. The car will start and seemingly run fine until you put it in drive and give some gas, then it "dies", it wont exactly stall, just sit there and shutter, shakes the whole car; without ANY power. Basically I'm stuck.
I theorized that the dim check engine light was becuase there was not enought voltage getting to the ECM, so I took apart all the battey terminals and cleaned everyhing up with a wire brush (there was corrosion, that powdery build up) and that seemed to fix the issue..for awhile.
Now it has started again with the cleaned up terminals, it will not do it all the time, but at the most inconvienient times!
does anyone have a clue on where I should start troubleshooting this one?
Thanks in advance...
Jeff

Try wiggling the cables at the battery, sometimes the corrosion gets into the protective cover at the terminals assuming it is a stock side terminal battery causing erratic operation. Check and clean the battery ground where it attaches to the block. Otherwise just start to go over all connections.
