Question about TPI ARAP Bin "Learn Control"

I just finished data logging my TPI equipped Monte Carlo SS after re-installing my BBK 52mm Throttle Body. There is a line item called "Learn Control". It is listed as Disabled. What is Learn Control and should it be enabled? I am running the ARAP bin on a 350.

Thanks,
Fred

Re: Question about TPI ARAP Bin "Learn Control"

We need an EPROM address for the parameter. Otherwise it could be for anything as ECU/XDF files are put together by many others. And they have the freedom of using any name for a parameter, flag, or table.

Re: Question about TPI ARAP Bin "Learn Control"

I know nothin' 'bout this...just trying to learn...

Tried searching for ARAP_hac to take a peek at the source code...

FDB $0045 ; 16. AIR/FUEL MODE WORD
;
; b0 not used
; b1 LEARN CONTROL ENABLE FLAG
; b2 not used
; b3 not used
;
; b4 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR FAILURE
; b5 EECC SLOW 02 RICH/LEAN FLAG
; b6 RICH - LEAN FLAG, 1 = RICH
; b7 CLOSED LOOP FLAG, 1 = CLOSED LOOP

C6EB: FDB $0045 ; 63 MWAF1
;
; b0 not used
; b1 1 = LEARN CONTROL ENABLE FLAG
; b2 not used
; b3 not used
;
; b4 1 = VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR FAILURE
; b5 EECC SLOW O2 RICH/LEAN FLAG
; b6 1 = RICH FLAG
; b7 1 = CLOSED LOOP FLAG
;
;==============================================

;==============================================
; MODE 2 DATA , 8192 BAUD
;
; 64 BYTE MEMORY DUMP, (SEQUENTIAL)
: (NEEDS STAR ADDRESS)

Looks greek to me! lol as an fyi...the 6E.xdf that I have doesn't identify this parameter.

Looks like Greek to me too. I do not know much about EPROM Address.

Re: Question about TPI ARAP Bin "Learn Control"

I'll try to answer your question

If you are using ARAP, it means it's a $6E mask on a '7165 ECM

I have never used "Learn Control" with data logging. I only use "BLM Control". On my ADX (TunerPro), "Learn Control" point to 62 0x04

You have to reference to the Hack
62 = 63
0x04 = b2

I have amended the Hack to help with reference.
01 = b0
02 = b1
04 = b2
08 = b3
etc..

If you look-up in the $6E hack (ARHP), it states "not in use"

However, if you look at b1 "Learn Control Enable Flag", it would be 62 0x02. This is "BLM Learn" in the ADX. It indicates when BLM are in learning mode.

These hacks are not an exact science. Personally, I have never used "Learn Control" when data logging and diagnosing. Unless someone chimes in and tells me what it does, if it's useful, then I'll start using it.

Hope this helps
