Stock 93 LT1 very rich idle. pls help
I need some help figuring out because it's driving me crazy.
I've swapped in a 93 LT1, and it idles very rich.
It's basically a stock engine with the usual EGR/cat/airpump delete. The only upgrades are an airfoil, and a magnaflow catback, other than the cat delete.
I've replaced th FPR and it checks out (43 psi with vacuum line removed and 35 with vacuum at idle)
Replaced the opti, and spark plugs, all the sensors, and installed heated O2 even though I'm running stock headers. .
Tried a different set of injectors, but it's the same.
I cannot find any exhaust or vacuum leak and the throttle body hasn't been messed with.
Also checked with a wideband, and it confirmed the rich condition. Also it runs perfectly in any other condition except for the idle...
If I extend the BLM boundaries to allow below 108, it settles around 100 at the right bank, and 103 at the left, but still smells rich.
Otherwise it's a stock tune. I recorded a short log, but I cannot upload it due to file extension restrictions...
What am I missing?

If you can read the BLMs, do all the sensor readouts look reasonable and correct?
When you say you swapped injectors... what injectors have you been trying?

Yes, everything else looks good.
Both set of injectors are stock lt1 injectors.
The only difference is that the one I put in were cleaned and flow checked. I believe they are 24 lb/hr and no obvious sign of error. Ohm readings are within a margin of error.
It starts and runs fine, other than the horrible smell...

You've got some sort of Injector Bank Error on both banks that appear to be permanently set. Not sure what that's all about.
Injector banks 1 and 2 are intermittently flashing "Error".
Also the closed loop timer is reading "Time Out". Again, not sure what that means.
Do those go away when you're above idle and/or driving around?
These are just some errors I'm noticing in the data.
Some info I found on a quick search...

The closed loop timer "timed out" shows up when it goes into closed loop. I suppose there's a timer function somewhere.
I checked out the wiring of the ECM grounds and injectors, and everything seems to be OK. Also added an extra ground strap for the ecm ground points for a peace of mind and cleaned all the connectors.
It's the same... However starting with a cold engine it took a good 8-10 minutes to get to BLMs below 108.
I guess it might be something within the ECM injector driver circuit. The service manual says to replace the ECM, but I don't have access to another ECM and the reman units are getting way too expensive.
Maybe I'll try to open up the ECM to look some visible signes of damage, maybe it a mosfet or something simple enough to replace...

As I thought there are 2 mosfets driving the injectors. I'm having a hard time identifying the types as I'm not familiar with this coding, but I'll start a separate thread, as it's not very relevant in the PROM section.
