coolant sensors

There are three I believe. One for fan control, another for gauge and another I am not certain but I presume is data to ECU. Two are at head(driver/passenger) and the third is at thermostat. I am installing the replacement cluster for 84 Vette with a Dakota Digital "system" and need to know gauge which on my SB(roller block) Chevy is for which function. The Dakota unit needs me to replace the current gauge sender with their supplied gauge sensor.

Also there is a oil pressure sensor and also a oil temp sensor. Again where is each located as I need to replace same.

Thank you in advance.

Re: coolant sensors

Temp gauge is generally on the driver's side between cylinders 2 and 4. It's a single wire (typically green) with a connector that slides on to the unit sideways.

Oil pressure is behind the distributor at back of the engine block.

There is no factory oil temp sending unit. Most situations you put this in the pan or inline with the oil cooler hoses if equipped.
