trouble connecting with 165 ECM.. correct adx mask?
Hey Guys,
I read this link a few times on how to edit your adx file to clear up some of the connection issues some people see. When I do connect it blinks on the bottom saying "data error" and the car ran horribly. I do have the 10k resistor. I did check that tunerpro recognizes my aldl cable. The link below is a supposed fix for adx files, adding in a "listen for silence" command.
http://forum.tunerpro.net/viewtopic.php?t=2215
However, when I go to "edit adx"... I do not have any of these commands. In fact it looks much simpler. And it says default baud is 160 when I know my 87 ECM should be 8192. I got my $32B mask from tunerpro's website. Can anyone confirm this adx is correct or maybe email me their adx file that has worked successfully on their 87 165 ECM setup?

Re: trouble connecting with 165 ECM.. correct adx mask?
The '7165 ECMs are a bear to connect to and stay connected. There are two different data streams at two different baud rates. The default rate is 160 baud with 24 bytes of data.
The 8192 baud data stream has 63 bytes of data.
Need the 10K on A & B of the ALDL to get into the 8192 mode. Can then remove the resistor as it also changes how the ECM runs the engine.
RBob.

Hey RBob... yes that's what I was doing. But I was getting the blinking light at the bottom of tunerpro going from "connected" to "data error" and back and forth.
The link I provided in my initial post has the "fix" for this but their adx file looks much different than mine. Can you or anyone else confirm that the $32B adx file on tunerpro's website is good?
