AUJM -> APYP for t56 swap notes, open for examination
Hi everyone,
been working on my tuning a bit for my t56 swap. Car is a bone stock 89 350TPI 700r4 3.27 car using AUJM. I have gone through one by one and looked at every single difference between the AUJM and the APYP using $6E & TunerPro. Below are my results.
I have questions on the parameters under ***Different but not changed:
I have also posted what I have copied from the AUJM to the APYP bin.
Wondering if a couple people might give it a once over to see if I have made some obvious mistake or if information can be shared on the "Different but not changed" categories. This is my first stab at tuning so bear with me.
Thanks in advance

Just out of curiosity, why would the timing need changed between auto & manual transmissions?

The biggest differences I've noticed between manual and automatic is the spark map. Whether Corvette, or iron headed L98's. You shouldn't use the Corvette, because it has too much total timing due to aluminum.

Manual doesnt have a torque converter or trans pump to run. Less load it can tolerate more advance i guess.
Shouldnt matter the apyp is a manual bin for the same motor basically, except may have L98 vette timing which is very aggressive for iron heads

He's using the aujm spark tables.

How would I go about seeing how far up I can push the spark advance?
Oh and what is CARS??

Sounds good. I'll have to figure out how to log and read the info a little later on. Probably not that complicated.
These are the tables I'm most worried about not changing from AUJM to APYP:
Injector Pulse Width Correction vs Battery Voltage
Maximum Knock Retard Vs Load, (Not In P. E.)
Highway Mode Spark Advance Vs. Load
Highway Mode AFR Vs. Load
Fast O2 Rich/Lean Threshold Vs. MAF
Anyone have any advice?

The highway mode spark, and fuel in the APYP BCC is not enabled. Look in the constants for highway mode temp enable, and fuel and it should be set at 151.25 Celsius. IMHO, the other table won't make a big difference, but you could always try?

Re: AUJM -> APYP for t56 swap notes, open for examination
Well, got my memcal modified with a ZIF and burned my t56 APYP chip and it works great.
I noticed while using the old BCC, the car was prone to stalling when the clutch was depressed while decelerating or at low RPM's in traffic. It was an inconvenience at first until it almost caused and accident.
I would be more than happy to share this .bin for safety's sake.
On another note, I put in a 170* thermostat and changed the fan to come on at 212*
Trying to decide what a good fan switch would be for the pass head? Idea's?
Oh, meant to ask. Do you mean to bump the entire table up a degree or two at a time or pick a range?

What was the reason to not start with APYP? Copy in what you think you need from your bin.
Even if you changed every single parameter exactly, you would still be missing a lot because not all parameters are defined as a changeable item in software.
Example IAC throttle follower would be there, filter coefficient is not. So will it work right?
Manual to Auto bins have huge differences, IAC logic, Dfco, Decel, etc...

Re: AUJM -> APYP for t56 swap notes, open for examination
Looking at the thread title again I can sort of see where you would think I had copied APYP data into the AUJM bcc, but this is not the case.
APYP was used initially, AUJM data was copied from.
